Before Six Sigma, TQM, SPC & Deming, there was Shewhart. This classic work by Dr. Shewhart introduces the principles that were to become the foundation for process quality control. While not as concise as his later "Statistical Method from the Viewpoint of Quality Control," this text provides a more in-depth introduction to basic statistical control concepts...very good for understanding the thinking behind Shewhart control charts.

1st and foremost of the classical SPC books to read

Along with "Statistical Method from the Viewpoint of Quality Control", Shewhart et.al. laid the groundwork for Statistical Process Control (SPC). Neither book is an easy read, even for the mathematically proficient, but worthy of chewing on until you get what Dr Shewhart is describing. Having read it in undergraduate studies, it was really a blessing to find it available through Amazon. Highly recommended for any engineer in manufacturing.

The Bank of England and US authorities shut the BCCI down amidst allegations of fraud in July 1991, making over 14,000 employees redundant and leaving over 1 million customers out of pocket. Double Standards revisits the actions taken by the Bank of England and the regulatory authorities with regards to BCCI and carries out an academic analysis to compare its treatment with the major banking scandals following the global financial meltdown in 2008. The malpractice that BCCI was accused of was on par with a parking violation compared to the actions of the bigger banks of today, yet the fines and penalties to these banks are not as severe as the punishment meted out to BCCI. Why was the bank shut and, more importantly, who benefitted from its closure? This informative analysis of BCCI's rise and fall will appeal to those with an interest in finance and banking law.

I have been humbled.

The individuals who have paid the price and continue to pay the price of following Jesus are true Christians. I am forced to reexamine my commitment and ask forgiveness for not having the same level of love for Jesus as they do. As I read each day's reading I became more aware of how truly BLESSED we are in America. I would recommend this book to every Christian, so they can be made aware of the true cost of following Jesus.

I must say that for a good part of my life I spoke negatively about myself and wondered why I had such a low self esteem. This book helped me realize that I had to change my thinking to improve my life. This book is a must for anyone who struggles with "stinkin thinkin" and wants true change in their life.

I can't believe I paid for this

This book is a very long ad for the author's workshop.

It's full of silly, trite, power-of-positive-thinking flotsam. If you've ever read a self-help book before, nothing here will be new to you. It's entirely conceptual stuff, with very little guidance on how to actually put any of the ideas to use. If you want the same kind of content but with an actual program to apply the ideas, try Terry McBride's The Hell I Can't. He's also has a much more interesting story than Markson.

If I were going to teach a course on ASP.NET Development in VB, this is the book that I would use. It's complete, well written, up to date with all the latest ASP.NET technology, and aesthetically pleasing !

Ok, BUT

The content is good insofar as learning the code itself within the Visual Studio interface, but there are errors when deploying to an IIS server. I bought this book because it was exactly what I wanted to do with what I have (asp.net 4 & VB 2010). I wanted to be able to build websites to use in the real world production IIS servers. I have tried on different IIS servers (6.0, 7.0, & 7.5) with different clients (XP, Vista, & 7) and on different browsers (IE 8, 10, Firefox) and get the same errors while in the Visual Studio environment everything works perfectly. I like the book as a learning tool but without being able to use the knowledge in a production environment - it is almost useless. One of the other reviewers mentioned the SAMS asp.net 2.0 book which so far is doing a great job teaching what I want to learn and it works in a production environment. i wish I paid attention to that review 43 dollars ago.

If you are a coder that really utilizes and learns from code examples, this book is great! It covers a wide variety of topics - from basic web design principles and code to literally everything ASP - including some of the little quirks. Tricks about post-backs and datasources are covered. This text really outlines a person for success with how thorough it is and is easy, quick reference material.

I am a person that is very particular about how I organize and categorize things, and I loved the organization and sections this text laid out. It was logical and intuitive, with LOTS of code examples.

Nothing new and original

I did like the sound of a lot of the recipes. I do cook variations now of the ones I read in the book. The recipes were not original. I was looking for some new, exciting dishes to try out but sadly these recipes fall flat. A lot of them contained eggs or sweet potato. There were too many egg recipes in there that were basically the same as each other. I love sweet potato but I don't love it that much. I would've liked to have seen more dessert recipes! Even one of the dessert recipes has sweet potato in it. The writing and advice from Charlotte on how to lose weight was quite minimal. I love Charlotte but I was disappointed by this book and feel like I wasted $15.

I deserved to be crucified for the blood that stained my whole life and the crimes I’ve committed and the evil I had done. This book was an amazing tale of real life events that went down behind prison walls. I could not put it down ...chapter after chapter I became more engrossed by the minute! If you are a fan of criminal history ....this book is for you. It is written well...easy to read ...and is a book I would read again and again.

Is a very raw, true story of a man's life journey. The author lays it all out there, nothing held back - the good, the bad and the ugly. I commend him on his bravery of putting it all out on his sleeves for the world to read. Definitely recommend this book to all those who enjoy true crime stories, those who are simply curious about the La Nuestra Familia, or those that are simply curious about survival in the prison world and the violence and the loneliness that comes with that life. Great read!!

WOW! Loved this book. One of the best books I have ever read. It was so good I will read it again and again. Ever page was great. Didn't want to put it down. Lets you believe everyone deserves a second chance. True view of prison life and how it affects people, was a real eye opener. The author was so great makes you feel as if you know the people he writes about. A movie producer should pick this up. This would make a fascinating movie!
